and once again - I've come across the answer to my question... “What I witness today so often is that we have a movement going on incongruous with mysticism and that is self-discovery. Self discovery takes you right into yourself, mysticism is supposed to take you out. So we find ourselves in this curious paradoxical crossroads of one part of ourselves becoming incredibly narcissistic on a path where self needs to be done away with. Where do you go with these two? You’ve got two things, two paths that are incongruous operating inside of you simultaneously. What voice do you listen to? You have one voice that says "Get ambitions. You can do whatever you want". And the other voice that says "Leave it up to me and release". How can you not be in madness with this type of dynamic going on? How can you not?" Caroline Myss "Spiritual Madness" (transcript) |
